Welcome to our Farm!
We are a fourth generation family farm located in Woodsboro, MD. We currently operate as a dairy and crop farm as well as raising our own beef, pork, and chicken. We take pride in maintaining and helping to grow our animals here that are fed with our own farmer made feed. Thank you for supporting our family and our farm!
History
Roger and Virginia Hildebrand moved from Ladiesburg to Woodsboro in 1927 with their first born son Leroy. With an opportunity to farm a larger area, Rocky Glade Farms was established. Roger and his son Leroy would grow to farm together, shipping their milk to MD&VA Milk Producers starting in 1943. Leroy married his wife Ellen in 1954 and the rest is history. Their family would grow to four children, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Our family has deep community roots in Woodsboro and our grandparents instilled in us hard work, family, and faith.
From selling custom feeders to custom farming, over the years many things have changed at Rocky Glade Farms. In 1986 and 1994, we were showcased in feature articles in the Baltimore Sun that highlighted family farmers. In 2017 we celebrated 75 years of shipping milk with MD&VA Milk Producers. In 2018 we were honored to be named Farm Family of the Year at the Great Frederick Fair. We also specialize in collecting and farming Allis-Chalmers tractors.
In 2022 the opportunity arose for the next generation to take over and farm- and we have been working hard ever since! Our goal as a family and a farm is to provide high quality products to our customers while educating our community about farming and food. We pride ourselves on using our own crops and goods to feed our animals. Family is the most important thing to us and we would love to have you as a part of ours!
"We all work better when we work together."
